AIDA4 – Master Freediver Course

Master Courses with Freedive Flow on Gili Air mark the highest level student training in the whole freedive industry. In 5 days you acquire all needed skills to achieve freedives to a maximum depth of -40m in an safe an controlled manner. The emphasis of this course is on technique, and not on the numbers. Successful candidates are also qualified to work as assistant instructors.

The ADIA4 Course includes 5 teaching days, on which you will be introduced to all knowledge, techniques and skills applied in modern freediving, like:

  • FRC (passive exhale) diving
  • mouth-fill equalising
  • dynamics of deep diving
  • variable weight diving
  • diet for freediving
  • plan and demonstrate a full body stretching session
  • coach a buddy through a static session including verbal guiding
  • rope works: handling freediving equipment, set up a session, assess dive sites
  • rescue from -20 m, towing and CPR
  • one-fin rescue
  • etc.

Master Combo

Combine your Master Course (Molchanovs 3, AIDA4 or PADI MFD) with our Master Student Program. Five days of course teaching plus three weeks of intense training under supervision of our senior instructors will make you the best freediver you can be.

Between your 5 teaching days you are encouraged to join all sessions (pool, open water and classroom) to work on your individual performance.

Becoming a AIDA4 Master Freediver qualifies you to act as an assistant to a Freedive Instructor. This means all your freediving-skills must be developed and fine-tuned to meet a professional level. You slowly change your focus away from yourself and shift it to your surroundings: the students, the environment and other guests. Once you are an accomplished freediver you will find this shift a pleasure.

The AIDA4 Course includes the following sessions:

  • 5 Open water sessions
  • 2 Pool sessions
  • Home-study with the AIDA4 manual
  • 1 Knowledge review & written exam

You will be able to demonstrate the following standards:

  • 3:30+ min static breath hold (STA)
  • 70m+ diving with fins (DYN)
  • 32-38 m depth in the open water (CWT)

To enroll in the AIDA4 Master Freediver Course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (16 years with parental or guardian’s consent)
  • Have successfully completed the AIDA3 Advanced Freediver course or passed the crossover-evaluation (1 day, not included)
  • Have completed a course in First Aid with CPR within the last two years
