AIDA3 – Advanced Freediver Course

The AIDA3 Advanced Freediver Course with Freedive Flow on Gili Air builds on the skills you learnt in your Beginner Level Course. You will reach deeper into the theory of freediving to understand the physiology and techniques behind diving deeper. The AIDA3 Course helps you to improve your freediving performance whilst advancing your safety and rescue skills. 

The primary aim of the AIDA3 Advanced Freediver Course is to improve yourself as a freediver – both in terms of how long you can hold your breath as well as how deep you can dive in a controlled and safe way. Both is based on developing your relaxation and freedive technique towards perfection. You will develop new skills, gain deeper knowledge of safety procedures and techniques such as:

  • Lungs at depth
  • “Mammalian Dive Response”
  • Training Concepts: CO2 tolerance tables in Static and Dynamic diving
  • Proper Weighting for deep freediving
  • Freedive with a lanyard (provided or bring your own)
  • Free fall
  • Frenzel Equalization Technique
  • Advanced buddying and self rescues
  • Identify hazards of open water sites

The course encompasses the following:

  • 2 Pool sessions: static, dynamic, CO2 tables
  • Self-study with the AIDA3 Manual
  • 1 Knowledge review & written exam
  • 4 Open water sessions

As a certified AIDA3 Freediver you will be able to demonstrate the following standards:

  • 2:45+ min static breath hold
  • 55+ m diving with fins
  • 24-30 m depth in the open water

To enroll in the AIDA 3 Advanced Freediver course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (16 years with parental or guardian’s consent)
  • Have successfully completed the AIDA2 Open Water Freediver course or passing the AIDA Crossover Evaluation

Gili Air – Four Day Course

Our base on Gili Air, the pool, the beach and the freedive boat are all located within one minute walking distance. Days start at 8:15 am and finish around 4:30 pm.
